Warming to this hysteria

The Stern Report (by an economist not a climatologist) has produced another round of global warming hysteria.

Please may we have more balance oin this dabate. Among many inconvenient truths are these.

The highest ambient surface temperature ever recorded on this planet occurred as logn ago as 1922 (El Azizia, Libya - 136 degrees Fahrenheit).

I am sure there will be the inevitable appeal to a "Scientific Consensus". A consensus is a common position agreed by everybody. If one person disagrees there is no consensus and there are hundreds if not thousands of scientists in appropriate disciplines who are very sceptical about global warming.

Finally even a consensus dopes not guarantee eternal certainty. Once upon a time every scientist in the world believed that the entire universe revolved around the Earth.

Before anyone feels incensed enough to put pen to paper or finger to the keyboard, please pause for a moment and ask yourself if you know how loft insulation works. Most of the global warming proselytisers have no idea how their loft insulation works and yet are confident they understand the infinite complexities of world climate systems.

If you still feel that carbon dioxide is going to destroy then planet then campaign vigorously for nuclear power stations. They are the only way of reducing carbon dioxide emissions substantially unless of course the economic conditions of the Middle Ages have some perverse appeal to you.
