LITTLE (or WEST PORINGLAND is a village and parish in the Southern division of the county, Henstead hundred and union, Norwich county court district. The living is a rectory, cnsolidated with that of Howe, tithes consolidated at £356 16s, with residence and 56 acres of glebe in the gift of C. Wheler esq, and held since 1871 by the Rev. Charles Henry Lipscomb, of Queen's College, Oxford, who resides at Howe. George Holmes esq. is lord of the manor and sole landowner, The soil is sand and clay; subsoil, various. The area and rateable value are included with Great Poringland; the population in 1881 was 31.---Letters through Norwich viā Framingham Earl. which is the nearest money order office; the telegraph office is at Brooke
