ffirst I Commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping assuredly through the Meritorious Death and Passion of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to be made an Inheritor of the Kingdom of Heaven And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named and as for my Worldly Estate wherewith God hath Blessed me I dispose thereof as follows
Item I do hereby Give Devise and bequeath unto William Hodgen my Son All and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments of what Nature or Tenure soever Situate lying and being in Stanfield in the County of Norfolk with all and every their Appurtenances To Hold the said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments unto him the said William Hodgen for and during the Term of his natural Life without Impeachment of Waste and paying all Interest Money as it shall become due and payable for the principle Money due thereon and upon the Condition hereinafter mentioned And after the Decease of the said William Hodgen or from and after the said William Hodgen shall leave off Paying the said Interest Money as aforesaid I Give Devise and bequeath the Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premises aforesaid unto my Grandsons William Hodgen and Benjamin Hodgen (the Children of my said son )William Hodgen and to their Heirs To Hold to them the said William Hodgen and Benjamin Hodgen and to their Heirs and Assigns for ever equally to be divided between them as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants Upon these Conditions (that is to say) That he the sd. William Hodgen my Son during the Time he Shall enjoy the said Estate and from and after his Decease or forfeiture of the same my said Grandsons William Hodgen and Benjamin Hodgen and such Person and Persons who Shall enjoy the said Estate under this my Will shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto Elizabeth Wells my Daughter for and during the Term of her natural Life the sum of ffive Pounds a Year without any manner of Deduction whatsoever And from and after the Decease of the said Elizabeth Wells my Daughter shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto my Grandson Benjamin Wells (the son of my said Daughter Elizabeth Wells) for and during the Term of his natural Life the sum of ffive Pounds a Year without any manner of Deductions whatsoever And my Will and Mind is that if default shall be made in Payment of either or both of the said Annuities herein before Charged on my said Estate Then it shall and may be lawfull to and for the Person or Persons so unpaid to enter into all or any Part of the said Premises so Charged by me as aforesaid with the payment of the same and to hold and enjoy the same untill he she or they be fully satisfied and paid the said Annuity and all Charges attending the Recovery of the same
Item I do hereby give Devise and bequeath unto Benjamin Hodgen my Son All and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments of what Nature or Tenure Soever situate lying and being in Sporle in the said County of Norfolk aforesaid with their Appurtenances To Hold to him the said Benjamin Hodgen and to his Heirs and Assigns forever
And Lastly I do hereby make Ordain constitute and appoint my said son Benjamin Hodgen sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And do hereby give and bequeath unto him all my Personal Estate of what nature or kind soever he paying all my Just Debts ffuneral Expences and Charges of Proving this my Will
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained on One Sheet of Paper set and put my Hand and Seal this Sixth Day of March In the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Sixty Two.
