Imprimis my Body I desire may be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix and Executor hereafter named and as to my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as follows
Item I constitute and appoint Mary my beloved wife Executrix and George Dawson my son Executor of this my will and I do will and direct that my said Executor do and shall within one month after my decease make out a true and just Inventory of all and singular my Household Furniture Plate China Glass bed and board Linen and other Implements of Household whatsoever and deliver a Copy of such Inventory to my said wife and I give and bequeath to her my said wife the use and Enjoyment of all such my said Household Furniture Plate China Glass Linen and Implements of Household for and during the term of her natural Life and immediately after her decease I will and direct that the same be by my said Executor sold and disposed of by Auction or otherwise as he shall deem most proper and for the most Money that can be obtained for the same and the money thereby arising (after all incidental charges deducted) to be added to and from a part of the residue of my Monies and personal Estate to be divided amongst my Children as hereafter mentioned Item I give and bequeath unto my seven Children hereafter mentioned (Viz) George William and John my Sons Elizabeth the wife of William Scott Martha the wife of Charles Allen my daughters Edmund my son and Susanna my daughter the sum of fifty pounds each of lawful British money to be paid to them respectively out of my personal Estate at the end of Six Calendar Months next after my decease in case any or either of my said seven Children shall depart this life before their his or her Legacies or Legacy become due without Leaving Lawful Issue Then I give the Legacies or Legacy of them him or her so dying to the other survivors or Survivor of them in equal shares but in case of any of their deaths as aforesaid leaving lawful Issue such Issue to be entitled to and receive the Legacy of its deceased parent or parents respectively
Item all the residue of my Monies book debts personal Estate after payment thereout of all my just debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses and the several Legacies aforesaid I Will and direct the same to be by my said Executor his Executors or Administrators placed and continued out at Interest on good real or personal Security during the natural Life of the said Mary my wife the neat annual Interest divided and proceeds whereof I give and bequeath to be by my said Executor his Executors or Administrators paid into the hands of the said Mary my wife for her support and maintenance for and during the term of her natural life and immediately from and after her decease I give and bequeath as well the principal Monies so directed to be placed out for her benefit as also the net monies to arise from the sale of my Household Furniture and Effects as aforesaid and all other my Monies not herein before otherwise disposed of in manner following (viz) to Abel Dawson my Grandson (the son of my late son Isaac) the sum of Five pounds and to Mary Dawson his Sister my Granddaughter the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to them respectively at the end of Six Calendar months next after the decease of my said wife or as and when they respectively attain the age of twenty one years which shall last happen and should either of them die before his or her Legacy become due I give the Legacy of him or her so dying to the Survivor but if both die as aforesaid their Legacies shall go to and be divided amongst all my Children share and share alike and all the residue of my Monies so having ben placed out for the benefit of my said wife and which shall arise by Sale of my Furniture and Effects as aforesaid I give and bequeath the same to be by my said Executor his Executors or Administrators paid and distributed unto and amongst all and every my said seven Children and Legatees before named at the end of Six Calendar Months next after my said wifes decease share and share alike or in case any or either of them shall depart this life before the time of making such distribution without leaving lawful Issue I give the part or share of him her or them so dying to the Survivors of them in equal shares but in case of any of their deaths as aforesaid leaving lawful Issue such Issue shall be entitled to and receive its deceased parents share.
Item all and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever situate in Swanton Novers in the said County be the same Freehold Copyhold or of any other nature or tenure with their Appurtenances I give and devise unto my said Son John Dawson his heirs and assigns forever upon condition that he my said son John his heirs or assigns do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto his six Brothers and Sisters (Namely) George, William, Elizabeth, Martha, Edmund and Susan the Legacy or Sum of Six Pounds each at the end of twelve Calendar Months next after my decease and in case any or either of them depart this Life leaving lawful Issue I give the Legacy or Legacies of him her or them so dying unto such Issue in equal shares but if any of them die and leave no Issue the Legacy or Legacies of him her or them so dying without Issue shall go & be paid to the Survivor or Survivors of them in equal shares
And Lastly I do hereby revoke all former wills codicils or other testamentary Instruments by me at any time hereto fore made and declare this only to be my last will and testament
In Witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament contained in two Sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to this last sheet thereof set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first above written
