I Giles Shall of Lowestoft in the County of Suffolk mariner being of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament in manner following that is to say I give and devise to Sarah my wife All those my two freehold tenements or dwellinghouses with the outhouses and buildings ground hereditaments and appurtenances to the same respectively belonging situate and being in Gorleston in the said County of Suffolk in the respective occupations of Benjamin Carpenter and Jacob Sudder or their undertenants
And also all those my three Copy hold Tenements or dwellinghouses with the outhouses and buildings ground hereditaments and appurtenances to the same respectively belonging situate and being in Gorleston aforesaid in the several and respective occupations of my sister Elizabeth Shall - Manthorpe and -
And all other my Lands and tenements in Gorleston aforesaid
To hold all the said freehold and Copyhold tenements dwellinghouses and the ground hereditaments and appurtenances thereto respectively belonging subject to any Mortgage which may be thereon at my decease unto the said Sarah my wife for and during the term of her natural life or until she married again
And from and after my said wifes decease or her marrying again which shall first happen I give and devise all the said hereditaments and premises and every of them with their rights and appurtenances unto and to the use of my two daughters Sarah and Mary and such other Child and Children which I may have living at the time of my decease and which my said Wife may be ensient with and to their several and respective heirs and assigns for ever To hold and take as tenants in Common and not as joint tenants
Also I give and bequeath to the said Sarah my wife for her own sole use and benefit absolutely All my household goods and furniture plate linen and wearing apparel
Also I direct my executor hereafter named as soon as conveniently can be next after my decease to sell and convert into money all my fishing boat Providence and her materials All my nets and ropes and all other my Herring and Mackarel Fishing stock of every kind My fourth part of a Pilot Cutter called the Providence and all other my saleable personal estate except as hereinbefore otherwise disposed of
And the Money thence arising and also all my ready money debts due or owing to me and securities for money and all other my personalty except as aforesaid I direct shall be paid applied and disposed of as hereafter mentioned that is to say First of all to pay thereout all my funeral and testamentary expences and all my Debts which I shall owe at the time of my decease
And all the rest and residue of the Monies so coming to the hands of my Executor as aforesaid I direct my executor to put and place at Interest on Government or any other security he may please but at the risk and hazard of the persons intitled to the same by this my will
And all the interest thereof I give to my said wife for her own use for her life or until she marries again
And after her decease or Marriage which shall first happen I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to and among my said two Children Sarah and Mary and such other Child or Children which I shall have living at the time of my decease and which my said wife may be then ensient with equally share and share alike to be paid at their respective ages of twenty one years and in the mean time and from the time when the interest of my said wife in the said Monies shall cease I direct that the interest of the same monies shall be applied in the maintenance and brining up of my said Children till their said Shares of the principal money shall be payable as aforesaid
Also my will is that my executor shall or may after the decease or marriage of my said Wife apply such art of the principal Money as he may from time to time think necessary for maintaining and bringing up my said Children
And I nominate constitute and appoint my brother James Shall of Gorleston aforesaid Mariner to be sole executor of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others by me at any time heretofore made
And I constitute and appoint the said Sarah my wife to be Guardian of all my said Children during her life or Widowhood
And after her decease or marriage which shall first happen I appoint my said brother James to be Guardian of all my said Children
In Witness whereof I the said Giles Shall have to this my last Will and testament contained in two Sheets of paper and affixed together at the tops to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to the second my hand and Seal this Seventeenth day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twelve
