The Will of John BARBER
of Little Barningham, Norfolk - 1854
The last Will and Testament of me John Barber of Little Barningham in the County of
Norfolk Farmer
First I appoint my dear Wife Mary Barber Sole Executrix of this my Will And I give and
devise unto my said Wife All and every my Messuages lands tenements and premises with
the appurtenances whatsoever and wheresoever and of whatsoever tenure To hold the
same unto her my said Wife her heirs and assigns for ever absolutely
And after payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences I give and
bequeath unto my said Wife All my goods chattels furniture farming stock implements
and utensils of husbandry Crops and all other my personal estate and effects whatsoever
and wheresoever for her own sole use and benefit And lastly hereby revoking all former
Wills by me made I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said John Barber the Testator have to this my last Will and
Testament set my hand this Second day of December One thousand eight hundred and
fifty four
Signed and acknowledged by the said John Barber the Testator as and for his last Will
and Testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at
his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as
Witnesses
Charles Gilman Hen. Geo. Gosnold Clerks to Mr. C. S. Gilman, Solr. Norwich
This Will was proved at Norwich on the second day of February 1856 before the Revd.
George Carter Clerk Surrogate duly appointed of the Worshipful Charles Evans M. A.
Official Principal of the Episcopal Consistorial Court of Norwich lawfully constituted and
was approved &c and admon of all and singular the Goods &c of the within named John
Barber the testator deceased was on the fifteenth day of the said month of February duly
granted to Mary Barber Widow his relict the Sole Executrix within named she being duly
sworn &c saving &c
Testator died 22nd November 1855
Examined with the Original Will By me
5 fol. Effects sworn under £2,000
