This is last Will and Testament of me John Hudson of East Walton in the County of Norfolk Farmer made this twenty eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen as follows that is to say
First I subject all my goods chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature soever the same may consist to the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences
Also I give and devise unto my dear wife Elizabeth Hudson all that my messuage or tenement with the barn stable yard outhouses and appurtenances together with eight acres of arable and pasture land more or less and a common right thereunto belonging now in the use or occupation of (blank) Postle situated and being in Grimstone in the said County of Norfolk
And also all that my messuage or tenement with the Garden outhouses and appurtenances together with six acres more or less of arable land and a common right thereunto belonging now in the use or occupation of Thomas Howard situate and being in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all those fourteen acres more or less of arable land in the use or occupation of William Howard lying and being in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all those two acres more or less of pasture land in the use or occupation of Roper Sandfield? lying and being in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all that messuage or tenement with the barn stable outhouses and appurtenances together with three acres more or less of arable land with a common right thereunto belonging now in the use or occupation of Thomas Blake? situate and being in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all those two Cottages and Garden in the use or occupation of George Baldwin and Matthew Eberson respectively situated in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all that messuage or tenement with the appurtenances and four acres of land more or less with a common right thereunto belonging situated in Grimstone aforesaid
And also all those two acres more or less of arable land in Congham in the same County both now in the use or occupation of Thomas …… the younger To Hold the same premises and every part parcel and member thereof and also the rents? issues and profits thereof to her my said Wife and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life provided she shall so long continue be and remain my widow but not otherwise she also keeping the said several messuages or tenements buildings fences and premises in good and tenantable repair and condition and not committing or suffering to be committed any waste thereon or thereto
Also I give and bequeath unto my said dear Wife the Interest of the respective sums of one thousand five hundred pounds and one thousand pounds sterling money part of my said personal Estate the former sum being secured to me on the Mortgage of a certain Estate in Hilgay in the said County by William Ostler and the latter sum I direct shall be placed out at interest on real or government security or securities and such interest dividends or annual proceeds to be paid to or otherwise retained by her as the same shall respectively become due and be received and to commence from the time of my decease for and during the term of her natural life Provided she shall so long be and remain my widow but not otherwise
And I do hereby declare that the provision hereby by me made for my said Wife shall be in full recompense and bar of all dower and third which she might otherwise claim out of my real Estate at Common law
And from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife or her marriage with any other person after my decease I give devise and bequeath the said several messuages or tenements lands hereditaments and premises with their and each and every of their rights members and appurtenances and the rents issues and profits thereof
And also the said respective sums of one thousand five hundred pounds and one thousand pounds with all interest dividends or proceeds which shall be due on the same sums respectively at such death or marriage of my said Wife unto my said son John Hudson To Hold to him his heirs executors administrators & assigns for ever
And I give devise and bequeath the same Messuages or tenements lands hereditaments and sums of money to him accordingly
And as to all thereof residue and remainder of my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments Goods chattels money securities …… personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the same may consist I give devise and bequeath the same to my said son John Hudson To Hold to him his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever absolutely Provided nevertheless that if my said Son shall happen to die before he shall attain the age of twenty one years then I give devise and bequeath all such residue of my real and personal Estate and Effects unto my said dear Wife for and during the term of her natural life she remaining my widow as aforesaid And from and immediately after her decease a future marriage then I direct that all my said real and personal Estate and Effects shall go to and be divided between and amongst such of my own relations and the relations of my said Wife as shall be living at her decease in equal shares and proportions and to their respective heirs executors administrators and assigns
And it is my will that the same shall in the aforesaid event go to and be enjoyed per stirpes? and not per capita
And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife and my said son executrix and executor of this my Will
And I do hereby declare my mind and will to be that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said executrix and executor by and out of all or any of the monies which by virtue of this my will shall come to her or his hands respectively to deduct retain and reimburse herself or himself all such reasonable costs charges and expences as they respectively shall or may sustain expend or put unto in or about the execution of this my Will
And also that my said executrix and executor shall be charged and chargeable each of them only for and with her and his own respective receipts payments acts and wilful defaults and not otherwise and shall not be charged or chargeable with or for any sum or sums of money other than such as shall actually come to her or his hands by virtue of this my Will nor with or for any loss or damages which may happen in or about the execution hereof without her or his respective wilful default hereby revoking all former wills by me made and declaring this to be my last Will and testament
In Witness whereof I the said John Hudson the testator have to this my last Will and testament contained in three sheets of paper to the two first sheets thereof set my hand and to this third and last my hand and seal the day and year first herein written.

This Will was proved at Swaffham on the second day of January 1839 before the Worshipful William Yonge Clk A.M. Official Principal of the Episcopal Consistorial Court of Norwich lawfully constituted and was approved and adcon. of all and singular the goods &c of this within named John Hudson the testator deced. was then duly granted to John Hudson his son the executor within named he being duly sworn and Power being reserved for committing the like adcon. to Elizabeth Hudson Widow testators relict the executrix within named when she shall pray the same &c saving &c
