The Will of Mary Mallett
of Hackford (by Hingham), Norfolk
1771
The Last Will & Testament of me Mary Mallett of Hackford in the County of Norfolk,
Widow made the Eighteenth day of November one thousand seven hyndred and seventy one
Mb unto Joseph Eke of Deopham in the said county Farmer All that my
Tenement or Cottage wherein Christopher Mallett my son now Dwells rented at forty
shillings a year lying in Deopham aforesaid with the outhouses Land & Ground thereunto
belonging upon the special Trust & Confidence that the said Joseph Eke within one calendar
month next after my Decease do sell the above premises for the best price that can be got for
the same and the Money arising by Sale thereof I Give & Bequeath unto Stephen Mallett
Mary the wife of the said Joseph Eke Ann the wife of Robert Henry William Mallett Mary
Mallett and Osborne Mallett Sons & Daughter of John Mallett my son lately deceased to be
paid and equally divided share & share alike by the said Joseph Eke my Executor hereinafter
named And also Devise & Bequeath unto the said Stephen Mallett the said Mary the wife of
the said Joseph Eke the said Ann wife of the said Robert Henry William Mallett Mary Mallett
and Osborne Mallett all my personal estate of what make or kind soever to be divided
between them share & share alike so soon after my Decease as may be And such arrears of
Rent on my several Estates as shall be due to me at my Decease except the Deopham land(?)
in the possession of the said Christopher Mallett which is to be computed from Michaelmas
last only unto the said Stephen Mallett Mary the wife of the said Joseph Eke Ann the wife of
Robert Henry William Mallett Mary Mallett & Osborne Mallett to be paid share & share alike
that Ann the wife of Robert Henry shall have forty shillings out of the said Arrears
of Rent over and above the rest paid her husband Joseph Eke And I Give & Bequeath unto
my son Christopher Mallett five shillings of lawful Money of the nation to be paid him by my
Executor hereinafter named one month after my Decease And Lastly I do make nominate &
Appoint the said Joseph Eke Sole Executor of my last Will & Testament
In Witness
whereof I have to the last Will & Testament revoking all others by wheretofore made by
setting hand and seal the day and year first above written
Signed Sealed Published & Declared by the above named Testatrix in the presence of us and
attested and subsumed in the presence and on the request of the Devisor by us
