FIRST I Commend my Soul into the hands of allmighty God my Creator hoping through the merit of Jesus Christ to receive a free pardon for all my sins my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named And I dispose of my Worldly Estate as ffolloweth I give and devise all and Singular my Messuages Lands and Tenements as well freehold as Copyhold Situate lying and being in Gresham aforesaid or towns Adjoining unto Catharine my loving Wife and to her Assigns for and during the term of her Natural Life or so Long as she shall Contain/nue my Widow But in Case the said Catharine my Wife shall Marry again then and immediately after such Marriage I give and devise all and singular the before mentioned premises to Ann my Daughter and her Assigns for and during the term of the Natural Life of the said Catharine my Wife upon Condition that she the said Ann my daughter do and shall pay or Cause to be Paid to the said Catharine her Mother the Yearly sum of fforty shillings by ffour quarterly payments during her Life The ffirst payment to be made within one Quarter of a Year next after that she the said Ann shall be possessed of the said Premises and ffrom and after the decease of the said Catharine my Wife I give and devise all and singular the said premises to Thomas my Son and his Heirs he or they Paying or Causing to be Paid to the said Ann my Daughter the sum of six Pounds within three Years next after my Decease by fforty Shillings A Year with Power ffor her to enter upon the said Premises or any part thereof in Case Default be made in payment of the same AND in Case the said Thomas my Son shall be abroad and come not Home to be possessed of the said Premises at or before the expiration of three Years next after my said Wifes Decease Then my desire is that the said Ann my Daughter shall receive the Rents ......... and Profits of the same in the fourth Year
AND if he be not heard of at the fourth Years End Then my Will and Mind is that the said Ann my Daughter together with Catharine and Rebecca her sisters shall have the full power and Liberty to sell and dispose of the said Premises for the best price they can get for the same and share the money arising by such sale equally amongst them or such of them or their Heirs as shall be then living
AND I Give to the said Thomas my son or to his Heirs the sum of five shillings instead of the said Premises BUT in Case my said son shall be at Home and become Legally Possessed of the said Premises at the death of my said Wife or at the expiration of the said three or four Years thence next Ensuing Then my desire is that the said Thomas my Son shall pay or Cause to be Paid to the said Ann my daughter the sum of five Pounds within four Years next after my said Wifes Decease AND to the said Catharine my Daughter the like sum of five Pounds within five Years next after the decease of my said Wife and to the said Rebecca my Daughter the like sum of five Pounds within six Years next after my said Wifes decease and to the said Ann my Daughter the further sum of five Pounds within seven Years next after the Decease of my said Wife and to the said Catharine my daughter the like sum of five pounds within Eight Years next after my said Wifes Decease AND to the said Rebecca my Daughter the like sum of five pounds within nine Years next after my said Wifes Decease AND to the said Ann my Daughter the further sum of five Pounds within ten Years next after the decease of the said Catharine my Wife AND to the said Catharine my Daughter the Sum of five Pounds within Eleven Years next after my said Wifes decease AND to the said Rebecca my Daughter the sum of five pounds within twelve Years next after the decease of my said Wife AND my Will is that the same shall be paid to my said Daughters or their Heirs (if any such be alive) at the respective times of Payment without any deduction whatsoever
AND THAT it shall and may be Lawfull to and for them or any of them to whom default shall be made in Payment of the same to enter into and upon the said Premises or any Part thereof and receive and take the Rents ......... and Profits thereof to her and their own proper Use and benefit till such Legacy or Legacies be fully Paid and satisfied together with all Charges Occasioned thereby AND I appoint the south porch of the Parish Church of Greshams aforesaid the place of Payment of my said Legacies
AND ALSO I do hereby make Nominate and appoint the said Catharine my Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and I do hereby give her all my Household Stuff and Utensils of Household and Husbandry and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever she to receive my Debts and pay my debts and see my Body decently buried Pay for my funeral Expenses and for the Probate of this my Will IN WITNESS whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament Contained in half a Sheet of Paper Written on both sides Set my Hand and seal the nineteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord Christ 1746.
