The Will of Samuel BARBER
of Skeyton, Norfolk - 1746

In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Barber of Skeyton in the County of Norfolk, Worstead Weaver being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding (Thanks be to Almighty God for the same) and Considering the uncertainty of this Mortal Life make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) FIRST and principally I Commit and ........ my Soul into the Hands of Christ my only Saviour and ....... to be ....... ......... of Everlasting Life and my Body to return to the Earth from whence it came to have decent and Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And as ........ such ........ Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to Entrust me ...... to be ... di......... of.

I GIVE and Devise Mary my loving Wife All those my Messuages Houses or Tenements with All and Singular the Outhouses and Buildings Yards Gardens and Land whatsoever thereto belonging with their and every of their appurtenances whatsoever Situate and being in Skeyton aforesaid and(?) Town ................ and now in the Occupation of Michael Dugdale and my Self TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the Same unto her the said Mary my Wife and her Assigns for and during the ....... of her natural Life And from and ....... ........ after the decease of the said Mary my loving Wife then and from then forth to give and devise unto Anne the Daughter of Sarah Burridge Now dwelling with me all and singular the ............. tenements(?) ............. Lands ................and .............whatsoever with all and every of the appurtenances thereto belonging Situate and being in Skeyton aforesaid of Town .................. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the .............her the said Anne her Heirs and Assigns for ever AND LASTLY s........ and ........... ............ former .......... by me........
