The Will of Samuell DAWSON
of Runton, Norfolk - 1692

SAMUELL DAWSON Runton - 1692 In the Name of God Amen I, Samuell Dawson of Runton in the County of Norfolk mariner being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God do make and ordain this my present last will and testament in manner following (That is to say) ffirst and principally I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the meritts. death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sinns and to inherit everlasting life. And my body I committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. And as toucning the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth. ffirst I will that all my debts and ffunerall Charges shall be paid and discharged. Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Sisters Rachell Kitchin wife of John Kitchin Sarah Horse? wife of John Horse? Agnes Royall wife of Thomas Royall and Katharine Dawson the sume of Sixteen pounds now due to me by bond from under the hand and seale of my brother Stephen Dawson which bond is in the hand of my said Sister Rachell Kitchin to be equally divided among them share and share alike As also the sheepe of mine now in the hands of my said brother Stephen Dawson to be equally divided between them share and share alike. Item I give and bequeath unto my said brother Stephen Dawson the summe of one shilling and no more. Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Cousin Daniell Kitchen Sonn of my said Brother John Kitchen the summe of ffive pounds to be paid to him by my Executor when he shall attain to the age of Twenty One years. Item I give and bequeath unto my Godson Samuell Ort Sonn of Alice Ort the summe of Tenn pounds to be paid him by my Executor when he shall attain to the age of Twenty one years, and in case of his decease then my will is that it shall be paid to Alice Ort his said Mother by my said Executor at such his decease. Item I give and bequeath unto the said Alice Ort the summe of Tenn pounds to be paid her by my Executor from and immediately after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Cousin Stephen Dawson the summe of Thirty pounds. Item all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate goods Chattells plate ready money and all other my Substance whatsoever both reall and personall I give and bequeath unto my loving Cousin Stephen Dawson and my loving ffriend Alice Ort to be equally divided between them share and share alike. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said loving Cousin Stephen Dawson Sole Executor of this my last will and testament. And do hereby revoke all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made and that this shall be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said Sam. Dawson to this my Will have hereunto sett my hand and seale the ffourteenth day of Aprill Anno Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Two. In the fourth year of King William and Queen Maryes Raigne over England &c. The marke of Samuell Dawson.
