The Will of Thomas CARR
of Weasenham All Saints, Norfolk - 1788

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Carr of Weasenham All Saints in the County of Norfolk Yeoman being sick of Body but of sound and disposing Mind and Memory at the making hereof

I Give all my Goods and Chattles and Personal Estate whatsoever unto Thomas Sanctuary of Weasenham Saint Peters and Henry Billing of Weasenham All Saints in the said County Farmer Upon Trust that they shall dispose of and sell the same and thereout pay unto my Wife the Sum of twenty pounds And upon Trust that they shall lay out and dispose of and pay all the residue of my said Personal Estate unto and for the use and benefit of Thomas my Son and for no other End or purpose whatsoever

My said Personal Estate being nevertheless subject in the first place to the payment of my Just Debts Funeral Expences and the Charges of proving my Will

Also I give to my said Son and his Heirs all my Freehold and Copyhold Estates whatsoever and wheresoever the same be And in case my Son dies under the Age of Twenty one Years and without leaving any Child or Children living at his decease Then I give all my said Freehold and Copyhold Estates unto my Brother James Carr and his Heirs for ever

And I hereby declare that the said Bequest to my Wife is in …… ……… and full Satisfaction of all her Right and Title to Dower and Thirds out of my Real and Personal Estates

And I appoint the said Thomas Sanctuary and Henry Billing Executors of my Will and revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my Hand and Seal the fifteenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Eight

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Testator Thomas Carr to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of Us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto

This Will was Prov’d on the Twelfth Day of October in the Year of our Lord 1788 before the Revd. Charles Campbell Clerk Surrogate of the Worshipful George Sandby D. D. Official Principal &c and was approved &c and Administration of all & singular the Goods &c of the within named Thos. Carr the Testator deceased was then duly granted to Thos. Sanctuary & Henry Billing the Executors within named they being duly Sworn &c Saving the right &c
